American IronHorse Slammer™ Declared 2007 “Bike of the Year”

Winning V-Twin Expo’s “Bike of the Year” award is an honor for any motorcycle company. To do it twice in less than a dozen years is just downright ballsy; the folks at American IronHorse should be able to attest to that. They did it this year with their Slammer™, a beautiful beast of burden almost too pretty to take out among the cage drivers. If they had any, one would forgive their hubris once you hear this is also the second prestigious award the Slammer™ has won at Cincy. Never let it be said you can have too much of a good thing.

Astrid: When did you set up your website?

Christine: I started working on the idea after the first of the year, this year, and formally launched the site at the end of April (2007). Prior to then, however, I had a web presence through a knitting blog: Knitting on Trial. I met so many other women through the blog, and as motorcycle season was approaching, I decided to try the same thing through motorcycling.

Astrid: What is the purpose of your website?

The feeling of freedom was exhilarating while I felt the wind blow through my hair. Even though I was only the passenger, I could not help but fuse with the driver and his machine. It was like the three of us became one, leaning in the direction of any curve in the road.

This ride on his Honda motorcycle was the last one I took with my friend, Mike, before the fateful day which changed life as he knew it forever.
